1. Controller and purpose of the website

Meteo Santa Susanna is a meteorological project providing station information, historical data, charts, statistics, webcam images, forecasts, weather models and official warnings. Personal data is processed only as necessary for operation, security, communication with users and the audience measurement described in this policy.

2. Technical data and server logs

When you access the website, the server may process technical data required to deliver pages and protect the service, such as IP address, date and time, requested resource, browser, operating system and technical request information. These logs are used for secure operation, error diagnosis and abuse prevention.

3. Audience measurement with Matomo

We use a self-hosted Matomo installation to understand statistically how this website is used. Basic measurement is configured in a privacy-friendly way and works without analytics cookies. The configuration reduces visitor identification, anonymises IP addresses, limits referrer information, respects Do Not Track and does not use measurement for advertising, commercial profiling or cross-site tracking.

The sole purpose is audience and performance measurement for our own website, for example pages viewed, device or browser type and aggregated information needed to understand and improve the service. Matomo data is not used to create advertising profiles and is not combined with third-party data.

Detailed Matomo raw data is retained for no more than 180 days under the current configuration; aggregated statistical reports may be retained for longer.

4. Optional analytics cookies

You may voluntarily allow Matomo analytics cookies to improve visit-counting accuracy. Mere inactivity does not enable these cookies; they are used only after an explicit choice. If you make no choice or select “Anonymous only”, only cookieless basic measurement continues. You can also select “No analytics” to disable Matomo measurement in this browser.

You can change your choice at any time through “Analytics settings” in the footer.

5. Forms and communications

If you send us a message through a contact form, we process the information you provide to answer your request and manage the communication. We do not use this information for advertising or add it to Matomo audience measurement.

6. External content and services

Some sections may display weather information from external services, such as maps, radar, forecasts, weather models or official warnings. Where technically possible, the system limits loading or interaction with those services to what is necessary to display the information. Linked external websites have their own privacy policies.

7. Retention and security

We retain data only for as long as necessary for the relevant purpose, legal obligations and service security. Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect systems and restrict access to information.

8. Your rights

Under applicable data-protection law, where relevant you may exercise rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction and portability, and withdraw consent for the future without affecting prior lawful processing. You may also lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority.

9. Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when website functions, services or legal requirements change. The version published on this page is the current version.
